  • Holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from The University of Maryland and a Masters degree from the Catholic University of America
  • Entered the homebuilding profession in 1964, and, with his partner Lou Best, founded his own company in 1975 now known as Mitchell & Best Homebuilders where he currently serves as Chairman and CEO
  • Created and presided over an affiliated residential design/build remodeling company and a custom homebuilding company
  • Served as President of the Suburban Maryland Building Industry Association for 3 years
  • Founded Home Builders Care for MNCBIA
  • Served as President of the Maryland State Builders Association for 2 years
  • Received the "Lifetime Achievement" Award presented by the combined building associations of Suburban Maryland and Northern Virginia in 1996
  • Served as President of the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB) in the year 2000
  • Founder of Home Builders Care, the community outreach arm of the NAHB
  • Served 17 years on the Board of Directors of Sandy Spring National Bank
  • Has served on the Governor's Housing Policy Commission and other task forces
  • February 2003, was named by Governor Robert Ehrlich to the Board of Regents of the University System of Maryland
  • May 2006, inducted into the NAHB Housing Hall of Fame
  • Currently serves on Board of Directors of the Montgomery Housing • Partnership, the Medstar Montgomery Medical Center of Development Board and the Olney Theatre.
  • Bob and Marlene, his wife of 56 years, have 4 grown children (all of whom serve in management roles at Mitchell & Best) and 6 grandchildren

Highly reputable regional homebuilder, Mitchell & Best, seeks friendly, organized Sales Assistant. Responsibilities include assisting the Sales Manager with on-site implementation, management and administration of community sales program.

Sales Office/Model Home is currently located in Highland, MD with a new community opening in October in Odenton, MD. Position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines. Prior real estate or related experience is helpful, but not required.

4 day work week includes Wednesday, Thursday, SATURDAY AND SUNDAY.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and lead management software.
